Durable Medical Equipment is covered by Medicare Part B, Medicaid, and other health insurance. Covered items must be medically necessary and prescribed by your doctor for use in your home. Only your doctor can prescribe medical equipment for you. DME meets these criteria: durable (can withstand repeated use); used for a medical reason; and has an expected lifetime of at least 3 years
Sea Island provides daily living aid products that make life easier and safer for use by those qualifying patients in their homes. These items include but are not limited to bed rails, bedside commodes, shower chairs, diabetic monitors and strips, and medical alert equipment.
Sea Island provides mobility aid equipment for those patients with temporary disabilities like injuries and decreased mobility after a surgical procedure or for chronic problems like severe arthritis pain and conditions that affect balance. These mobility aids include wheelchairs, crutches, rollators, knee rolleres and walkers. Items are also avaible for rent following surgery or injury.
